MASTER OF YACHTS 200 GT COASTAL / MATE (POWER&SAIL)

Courses and certifications are approved and issued by IYT Worldwide and recognized by MCA.

A comprehensive Master of Yachts 200 GT Coastal / Mate course consisting of six days for sail or five days for power, which includes the practical on the water examination. The course covers subjects such as navigational charts and publications, dead reckoning, and estimated position, position fixing, tides, tidal levels and data, pilotage, safety at sea, meteorology, and much more.
This Coastal course is conducted aboard a yacht and also covers practical seamanship skills such as ropework, anchor work, boat handling, docking, yacht presentation, navigation, passage planning, and much more.

 

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
-Must be at least 18 years of age
-Hold or obtain a Marine Communications VHF-SRC Radio Operators certificate
-One must hold or obtain 5 Basic STCW Safety Training certificates
-A current medical fitness examination and a color-blind eyesight examination (Medical/eyesight examinations are valid for two years.)
-Candidates may sit the course before obtaining the minimum sea time. However, they will not be issued their Master of Yachts Coastal/Mate 200 GT certificate until all the requirements have been met.
-Endorsement requirements: 25 days at sea, 800 nautical miles, 2 days acting as watchkeeper, 12 night hours
